ประเพณีทำบุญแบบล้านนาที่มีเฉพาะภาคเหนือ ชาวบ้านจัด "ก๋วยสลาก" (ตะกร้าเครื่องไทยทาน) แล้วให้พระจับสลากแบบสุ่ม เชื่อว่าเป็นการทำบุญให้ทุกคนอย่างเสมอหน้า รวมถึงญาติผู้ล่วงลับ · A merit-making tradition unique to the North — households prepare kuay salak baskets of offerings, and monks draw them by random lottery. The randomness is the point: it makes sure merit reaches everyone, including deceased relatives, without favoritism.
